Transformation and Music, Musical Transformation

“Transformation is my favorite game and in my experience, anger and frustration are the result of you not being authentic somewhere in your life or with someone in your life. Being fake about anything creates a block inside of you. Life can’t work for you if you don’t show up as you.” ― Jason Mraz Now while I am not sure that transformation is a “game” , I am sure that there are emotional and somatic responses to being false, not true to myself. I can’t breathe, my shoulders get tight, my fingers stiff and movements jerky. My energy gets blocked and trapped around the story I am creating – the one that covers up my true self. Once I become aware of the feelings, once I trace the source I have a choice. I can choose to stay stuck or I can be brave. I can be brave and willing to transform, to take the risk to BE who I am in spite of the fears I have and the concerns I have about … being accepted, liked, understood; what ever the story or the fear is. I can be brave in the face of vulnerability once I have found ways to keep myself safe. I can be brave when I stay in gratitude and cease dwelling on potential loss (loss of old self, old ways of being or of material concerns). That will transform me. And that will let me breathe, loosen up, become more fluid in my body AND in my life.
